摘要

Cylindrical shell structures are commonly seen in aircrafts, aeroelastic behaviours would appear in which due the interactions with outer flow. The aeroelasticity may induce flutter response and therefore fatigue failures of shell structures. In this research, we investigate the aeroelastic behaviours of a cylindrical piezoelectric metastructure shell interacted with supersonic flow. The negative-capacitance shunting circuits are employed for the periodic piezoelectric patches placed on the shell. The complex eigen frequencies of the metastructure shell subjected to supersonic flow are computed, which are used to characterize the critical Mach numbers to induce flutter. Two scenarios with distinct radius are considered. It is found that with the designed piezoelectric shunting, the flutter thresholds can be effectively improved. This is realized due to the increasing of the equivalent tensional rigidity of the shell. The results of this paper provide guidelines for designing piezoelectric metastructure shells with superior flutter-suppressing performance in the future.
