Adaptive Hierarchical Proportional Coefficient Method for Active SOC Balancing Control with Energy Storage System

摘要

Energy storage systems have the advantages of balancing grid load, regulating power fluctuations, emergency standby, and supporting renewable energy integration. Battery packs in energy storage systems are inevitably accompanied by SOC inconsistency, which changes the battery aging and decay rate, causing abnormal service life decay and possible thermal runaway problems. In order to achieve rapid and active SOC balance between different energy storage units, an adaptive hierarchical proportional coefficient algorithm is proposed. In a limited adjustment range, the relative power and rate control of SOC differences accelerates SOC balance. The interleaved parallel bidirectional DC-DC topology provides a bidirectional flow path of energy to achieve active dynamic balance in charging and discharging modes. Finally, simulation analysis is conducted to verify the correctness of the proposed control strategy.
