N2 - Having recognized the deficiencies existing in substation centralized compensation and in low-tension side distributed compensation of distribution transformers, we propose that pole-mounted automatic reactive compensation equipment be adopted for the HV distribution network, so as to enhance power factor, reduce line loss, and improve voltage quality. Starting from the perspective of engineering reality, we put forward the overall equipment design scheme and the component selecting principle, designed an intelligent controller centering on AT89C55 single-chip microcomputer, and developed a novel Outdoor Automatic HV Reactive Compensation Equipment. With the primary and the secondary elements integrated in an outdoor case, this equipment features simple structure, reliable performance, low cost, convenient installation and maintenance. Meanwhile, by adopting VQC tactics, and regarding the seven-region plot on voltage reactive plane as capacitor switch criterion, switch oscillation is effectively avoided.
