N2 - In this paper, a new broadband dielectric resonator magnetoelectric (DR-ME) dipole antenna is proposed. The DR-ME dipole antenna consists of a metal semi-loop, two L-shaped feed lines, and a rectangular dielectric resonator (DR) with a slot. One of the L-shaped lines is excited and the other one is grounded. The feed lines are coupled with the semi-loop to control its electric current distribution. The feeding structure can excite the DR's fTE_ δ f11 mode. The semi-loop and its image can work as a magnetic dipole while the DR can be equivalent to an electric dipole. Thus, a DR-ME dipole antenna is designed. The electric size of the antenna is f0.29 λ_f0× f0.29 λ_0× f0.26 λ_0 (( λ_0 is the free-space wavelength at the center frequency). According to the full-wave simulation, the -10 dB bandwidth of the antenna is 18.7%, spanning from 1.98 GHz to 2.39 GHz. The front-to-back ratio is better than 18 dB within the operating band.
