摘要
The operational flexibility improvement of thermal power plants plays an essential role in a largescale power grid. However, the regulating measures applied in improving the operational flexibility indeed decrease the exergy efficiency of coal-fired power units during transient processes. Therefore, this paper studied condensate throttling method, one of the efficient methods to enhance the operational flexibility of thermal power plants. Dynamic models of the condensate throttling system were developed. Based on the exergy analysis, the mechanism analysis of the exergy storage conversion with different condensate throttled ratios was performed. Results indicate that: Operational flexibility is found to be in contrast to thermal efficiency during the condensate throttling process. The larger the condensate throttled ratio is, the faster the output power changes, but the change rate of output power decreases and the additional exergy loss increases. The additional output power increment accumulation decreases 117 MJ while the additional exergy loss increases 255 MJ when the condensate throttled ratio is changed from 20% to 90% during the condensate throttling process.
