Abstract

In order to research the welding properties of SiC-graphite composite ceramics welded by slurp coating method and reaction bonding route, the SiC-graphite composite ceramics were welded using SG0 (SiC 95 mass%,graphite 0 mass%) and SG30 (SiC 65 mass%.graphite 30 mass%) as mother materials 65% (solid volume fraction) mixing slurry of silicon powder and activate carbon powder (n(Si):n(C) = 1:1.2) as welding material. The flexural strength, microstructure and phase composition of the weldinc joints were investigated. The results show that the welding joints have the similar microstructure and phase composition with the mother materials, and they joint with matrix closely; Compared with the specimet SG0-SG30,the specimen SG30-SG30 with homogenous mother materials has higher flexural strength reaching 81.96 MPa.
