Abstract
In recent years, the wavelet transform analysis method has been developed and it is a powerful tool for processing the transient and suddenly changing signals. As the wavelet transform possesses the properties of multi-scale analysis and time-frequency domain localization, it is also particularly suitable to process the suddenly changing signals of the partial discharge pulse (PD). In this paper, the wavelet transform (discrete dyadic symmetric) is developed for the PD measurement. With the developed method, the ability of anti-interference, the measuring sensitivity and locating accuracy of PD measurement has been improved. As shown with computer simulations, this method is available.
