Abstract

By using an air-water flow test loop, the flow distribution characteristics are examined for gas-liquid in a horizontal U type and Z type header system with and without acceleration tube at the inlet of the distribution header. It is found that the two-phase flow rate distribution in the header system is influenced not only by the pressure distribution in the headers but also the flow pattern in the horizontal distribution header. And the two-phase flow rate distribution in header system is markedly improved by using an acceleration tube at the inlet with the same two-phase mass flow rate.
