Abstract
A simultaneous testing equipment of pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) and ultrasonic wave were used to quantify the relationship between wave transmission and specific volume of natural rubber(NR). Five functions of ultrasonic velocity versus specific volume were established by fitting experimental data on basis of different theories. The predicted values are close to experimental data. Thus, rubber products can be online characterized by ultrasonic wave for specific volume, thermodynamics of huge products and control process parameters besides differentializing materials.
