Abstract
In order to improve the distribution uniformity of two-phase flow in plate-fin heat exchanger, the two-phase flow distribution performance in the heat exchanger before and after configuration improvement was experimentally studied. The experimental results indicate that the maldistribution of two-phase flow is very serious in conventional heat exchanger used in industry due to the improper header configuration. The two-phase flow distribution is more complex and nonuniform than that of single-phase flow for the interaction of two-phase flow. The improved header with perforated baffle can effectively improve the uniformity of two-phase flow distribution. The fluid near the center part decreases and the flow rate near the boundary increases accordingly. The coefficients of nonuniformity of two-phase flow distribution all decrease compared with that of conventional heat exchanger. And the stability of two-phase flow distribution in the heat exchanger is also enhanced, which is not affected by Reynolds number.
