Abstract
The Lord and Shulman generalized thermoelastic theory is employed to investigate a two-dimensional thermally and electrically conducting half-space solid with a surface subjected to a time-dependent heat and under an initial magnetic field parallel to the plane boundary of the half-space. The medium deforms due to the heat magnetic field. The Maxwell's equations are formulated and the electromagneto-thermoelastic coupled governing equations are established. The normal mode analysis is carried out to obtain the exact expressions for the considered variables. The distributions of the considered variables are represented graphically.
