Abstract
The low rank channel may result in decrease of channel capacity in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. To solve this problem, an antenna selection algorithm is proposed to select the optimal set of transmit antennas. The selection algorithm is based on eliminating the link whose weight has maximum norm. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve approximately the same system capacity as the traditional selection scheme, and at the same time, reduces the complexity of antenna selection. Based on the selection algorithm, a link adaptation scheme in vertical-BLAST is also discussed. The selected antenna set and number are obtained at the same time is the scheme, and the adaptive system can achieve maximum spatial diversity order.
