Abstract

The key for studying the quality of fixing process in the duplicator is to analyze the internal temperature distribution of duplicating paper. However, the temperature field of duplicating paper varies with high gradient when paper moving through the fixing rollers. Traditional methods for solving such temperature singularity problems often cause some numerical oscillation. To overcome this serious shortcoming, a new element formulated in terms of wavelet on the interval basis functions is proposed. We compare the numerical results obtained with this new approach and traditional finite element method, which shows that the new approach has good accuracy.
