Abstract

The equilibrium compositions and thermodynamic properties of SF6-Cu mixtures with copper proportions up to 50% are calculated as a function of temperature from 300 to 30 000 K and pressure from 0.01 to 1.0 MPa. The condensed phases and Debye-Hckel corrections are both taken into account. The influences of condensed phases, Debye-Hckel corrections, copper proportions and gas pressures on the composition and/or thermodynamic properties are discussed in detail under various conditions. Some results are tabulated for the modelling of SF6 arc plasmas contaminated by Cu.
