Thermal stability of hydroxyapatite whiskers prepared by homogenous precipitation

Abstract

The thermal stability of hydroxyapatite (HA) whiskers, prepared by homogenous precipitation was discussed. It was found that HA whiskers prepared by homogenous precipitation were morphological stable at elevated temperatures below 1200 °C. X-ray diffraction and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were employed to analyzed the phase composition of the HA whiskers.
