Abstract

One-dimensional metallodielectric photonic crystal is introduced into thermal radiation spectral control. Energy equation and simulation method are induced based on electromagnetic wave theory. The crystal structure being investigated is designed using tungsten (W) and silicon oxide (SiO2). The spectral characteristics are simulated based on Maxwell equations by our method. The simulated results exhibit that the crystal structure can achieve thermal radiation spectral control including absorption characteristics excellently and can be used as a selective emitter in thermophotovoltaic system.
