Thermal Power Plant Reliability Assessment Method Considering Auxiliary System and Main Wiring with Intelligent Terminals

Abstract

Greater demands of reliability are being placed on thermal power plants by growing promotion of intelligent devices and high-rate renewable energy resources. The auxiliary equipment and main wiring topology of power plants are all affected, while the overall studies are few. To overcome the shortcomings of existing research, this paper proposes a comprehensive reliability assessment methodology of thermal power plant with consideration of both auxiliary system and main wiring in power plants. Firstly, the structure of power plant auxiliary system is established. Then, the main wiring with intelligent terminals is analyzed. Moreover, an overall reliability evaluation procedure is given based on Monte Carlo method and minimum cut set method. Finally, a typical 2*600MW thermal power plant is modified to calculate the reliability indices and compare the importance of these two parts. In the future, with the development of new power systems, the reliability of information system and intelligent terminals should be focused more.
