Abstract

Through the in-depth analysis of the modification of top profile based on arc shaped curves with equal β angle, the method of generating the top profile, characteristic of the top profile and the general calculation equations are presented. A precise and simple expression of the volume that varies with the rotation angle of the moving scroll is derived from the control volume method. The accurate and concise methods to calculate the impact area of the tangential and radial gas forces are derived, the comparison and analysis of these two kinds of calculation methods are conducted through examples and conditions are presented. The results show that this method is suitable to all wraps modified by arc shaped curves.
