Abstract
Boundary integral equations are used to solve the forced vibration problem of a baffled cylindrical thin elastic shell of finite length immersed in a heavy fluid of infinite extent. Coupling theory of sound and vibration is used. Fourier transform is applied to obtain the shell's vibration displacement and sound pressure expressions at far field. Study results provide the theoretical basis for controlling noise and vibration of this kind of shell.
