Abstract
Objective: To study the relationship between the concentration of serum endogenous ouabain (EO) and glomerular diseases. Methods: The EO concentration of the serum samples from 46 paients with glomerular diseases and 20 healthy controls was detected with the method of ELISA coating buffer antigen and competition. Results: The EO level of glomerulonephritis was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group. EO level had positive correlation with blood pressure and negative correlation with renal function, whereas it was not associated with etiological factor, hematuria, edema and mass proteinuria. Conclusion: The EO level plays an important role in the development of glomerulonephritis.
