Abstract

By utilizing the difference of travel times and the spectral ratio of S and sS waves, the Q-value of the Tibetan Plateau around Lhasa region is determined. The result shows that the Q_s of this region is approximately 25, lower than that of the other regions. The cause for such a lowering is probably due to the collision between the Indian plate and the European-Asiatic plate.-English summary
