The mediating effect of self-concept clarity: Anonymity and online public communication

Abstract

This study1 aims to explore the association among anonymity, online public communication and self-concept clarity. The results showed that the online anonymity positively predicted the online public communication, but negatively predicted the self-concept clarity; self-concept clarity had a negative prediction to the online public communication. This study concluded that the self-concept clarity had a mediating effect between online anonymity and online public communication.
