Abstract

Through the analysis of the profit of an individual power supplier in the new electric power market based on Lagrangian relaxation method, the conclusion can be reached that if an independent power supplier adopts an incomplete-cooperation relation with other power suppliers then not only those power suppliers won't decrease their profits, but also they can decrease the superabundant power generation to some extent. The incomplete-cooperation relation is that power suppliers won't cooperate mutually when they tender for the generated energy, while the cooperation relation only exists after they get to know the market clearing price of the power energy and the tender for the generated energy. A numerical simulation test on a simple power system including two power suppliers shows that incomplete-cooperation relation is effective.
