abstract = "The impacts of different approximations in multi-group library and self-shielding calculation on Kimfare analyzed based on the whole-core transport code NECP-X. The multi-group library is an in-house library based on extended WLUP-69 group structure and the global-local scheme is used for self-shielding calculation. The numerical results show that the approximations introducing largest errors for U02 pin cell problems are narrow resonance approximation (-636∼-326 pcm), multi-group equivalence approximation (-225∼-100 pcm), resonance interference approximation (Bondarenko iteration method) (-276∼-59) and average fission spectrum approximation (105∼161 pcm). For MOX pin cell problems, the approximations introducing largest errors are thermal resonance approximation (-1911∼62 pcm), narrow resonance approximation (-576∼-478 pcm), resonance interference approximation (resonance interference factor method) (-277∼-96 pcm), multi-group equivalence approximation (-197∼-148 pcm) and isotropic scattering approximation (-169∼-81 pcm).",
