Abstract
Obective: To investigate the realtionship between apoptosis and the expression of Fas, p53 and bcl-2 during radiotherapy. Methods: The immunohistochemical staining method(S-P) and TdT mediated dUTP nick and labeling(TUNEL) technique, were used to detect the changes of Fas, p53 and bcl-2 and apoptosis in 40 cases of uteri cervix carcinoma during radiotherapy. Results: Overexpression of Fas and p53 and uteri cervix carcinoma cell apoptosis were detected after radiotherapy(P < 0.01). Expression of bcl-2 decreased after radiotherapy (P < 0. 01). The expression of p53 was significantly correlated with the expression of Fas and bcl-2 (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Fas, p53 and bcl-2 have promotive or inhibitory effect on radition-induced apoptosis. p53 by up-regultion of Fas may play an important role in apoptosis induced by irradiation.
