Abstract

The properties of Environmental Suitable Material Si₃N₄ are briefly discussed in view of the selection of raw material, composition design, sintering and fatigue life. The results show that Si₃N₄ material has important effect as a new type of tool material in metal machining. Si₃N₄ is environmental suitable material with high strength and long service life also, so it has the broad prospects of application.
