Abstract

The natural convection heat transfer in a cube enclosure with multiple internal isolated plates has been simulated using 3D SIMPLEN program. It is found that with the increase of L/H, the Nusselt numbers of every plate decrease quickly and then increase slowly. There is an enclosure-size (for vertical plates L/H - 1.7, for horizontal plates L/H = 1.8) which will deteriorate the ability of heat transfer of the plates group. When L/H > 3, the effect of L/H on the heat transfer of the plates group is very little.
