Abstract

The characteristics of quasi-ordered point cloud from laser scanning system are discussed in the paper, and an algorithm of surface reconstruction based on section point cloud is put forward. Based on the theory of non-uniform B-spline curve and surface interpolation, the freeform curve and surface reconstruction method - loft surface reconstruction - are introduced in detail. This method of surface reconstruction is adequately utilized the characteristics of point cloud from laser scanning system. The experimental results testify that the method is effectual and feasible.
