Abstract

SCWO experiments of acrylic acid wastewater and sewage sludge by an intermittent flow SCWO experimental system has been studied. The conditions of the experiment included reaction temperature (T) 793 K and 873 K, oxidation coefficient (α) of 1.05 and 4, a constant pressure (P) of 25 MPa, and a residence time (t) of 1200s. The experimental results showed that the temperature (T) and the oxidation coefficient (α) had great influences on the oxidation reaction and the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) could be improved when we increased the temperature (T) and the oxidation coefficient (α). The removal rate of chroma was perfect when the temperature of the experiment was 792 K, but it was bad when the temperature was 873 K. By speculation, we can get the conclusion that the chroma was caused by the corrosion of the tubular reactor and it was the color of Fe2+ and Fe3+.
