Abstract
The velocity fields and cell volume concentration distribution in microtubules of artificial bone were studied. On the basis of these, the spots of cell deposition were analyzed. The results indicate that the most concentration spots are near the joint of Halverson Canal and Volkmann Canal and the location is on about 0.3 r (radius) from centerline to the bottom of microtubules. The speed of cell-phase is higher than that of liquid phase in certain transition zone. In the zone of proximal tube wall, some of the cells will deposit on the wall because of the diffusion and adhesiveness of the cells. In the zone of main stream, the speed of cell-phase is lower than that of liquid phase, but most of the cells will be dragged by the liquid.
