Abstract

The rheology of modified foam fracturing fluid is studied on a large-scale experimental loop system. This experimental loop system simulates the practical fracturing operation condition of high-pressure and high-shearing rate. The experimental data is processed using PL model and modified PL model. The results show that the flowability of the modified foam fracturing fluid becomes better with the increase of temperature and shearing rate, and it becomes worse with the increase of pressure and mass fraction of foam. The specific volume expansion rate introduced in modified PL model can reflect the volume expansion caused by the change of temperature, but not reflect the effect of the mass fraction of foam, because the change of the foam structure caused by the increase of foam mass fraction can not be considered in the specific volume expansion rate when the mass fraction of foam is higher than 70%.
