Abstract

Large capacity active power filter (APF) with main circuit of multiple configuration has the merit of high equivalent switching frequency. But each module of the APF with traditional multiple configuration shares one DC link capacitor, it tends to cause problems such as intersection many times in one carrier's cycle or higher static compensation error. In order to solve these problems, a new multiple configuration is presented in this paper. The DC link bus of each module is separate in order to achieve the decoupling of each module. It also remains the virtue of higher equivalent switching frequency and lower current ripple. Simulation results prove the validity of the deduced conclusions and experiment results show that the APF with the new multiple configuration has good performance.
