Abstract

The bond mechanism of vanadium titano-magnetite pellets mixed with coal powder by rotary hearth furnace (RHF) was studied under the condition of laboratory simulation in this paper. Effects of C/O(carbon/oxygen) mol ratio, reduction temperature, reduction time on metallization ratio and compressive strength of the pellets after reduction were discussed. The results showed that the compressive strength of single pellet was not only dependent on the shape and amount of iron phase, but also on the size of pore in metallic pellet; The pore size depended on the amount of coal and filling condition of slag phase to the pore in pellet. The amount and shape of iron phase were decided by the reduction degree of pellet.
