Abstract

Because the material corrosion comes from liquid-solid impact from time to time for various machines, it is necessary to investigate the liquid-solid impact to prevent the machine from breaking. The nonlinear wave model for the liquid-solid impact is developed, and the model is adopted to analyze the water hammer problem and the impact between liquid droplet an rigid solid plane. The curve of the contact pressure with time for the water hammer problem is provided. By analyzing the impact between liquid droplet and rigid solid plate, the dimensionless pressure varied with time in the contact plane and the dimensionless pressure contours inside the droplet are provided. The results show that the model can describe the detailed physical parameters of liquid-solid impact, and it provides a reliable basis for studying the corrosion problem in the solid surface. All the results show a good agreement with the theoretical results, so the validity of the model is proved.
