Abstract

The nonlinear dynamic stability of a flexible support-sliding bearing rigid rotor system is investigated. For the horizontal rotor with flexible support, the mechanical model of Jeffcot rotor-oil film cylindric bearing is established. Based on the nonlinear behavior of film force, the Newmark method is used to calculate the dynamic response of the rotor system. And a practical Jeffcot rotor system is calculated. Its stable region is discussed via changing its structural parameters. The calculated results are compared with the results in the case of linear film force.
