Study on Manufacturing Information Sharing and Controlling Method for Extended Enterprise

To deal with conflict between manufacturing information sharing and controlling, a manufacturing information sharing and controlling method for extended enterprise was proposed. Manufacturing information templates were used to encapsulate manufacturing information, but they differed in their contents and capacities. Based on information's visibility and usability, each information item was located at a discrete point on the information plane. According to mapping relationship between information set and discrete point set, every user was entitled to access an information sub-set. Therefore, a correspondent template was activated, and it was used to encapsulate manufacturing information for the users. Scope of manufacturing information sharing is measured, and a balance of information sharing and controlling is achieved.
