Abstract

The 220kV thyristor controlled series compensation (TCSC) project for power transmission from Cheng County to Bikou in Gansu Province is the first domestic-manufactured demo project of 220kV TCSC in China. In this project the domestic-manufactured fixed series compensation and TCSC are implemented by means of the hybrid configuration in the main primary equipments, and the compensation degree and series capacitive reactance of the demo project are the biggest in the world. Here, the background-research of the project, its key technology and commissioning tests are briefly presented.
