Abstract

To enhance the stability of multi-infeed HVDC transmission systems, a decentralized coordinated additional DC controller with optional structures is designed in this paper. The controller is based on decentralized coordinated optimization algorithm for improving the dynamic characteristics of the total system. The concepts of modal controllable degree and modal observable degree are proposed to choose the control feedback signals and installed points of controllers in the design process. Simulation results show that the coordinated controllers can damp several oscillation modals. The validity of the coordinated control design method is proved.
