Study of the elastic modulus of the micro-arc oxidation layer in different electrolytes

Abstract

The nano-indentation was performed to measure elastic modulus of microarc oxidation layer on titanium. And the factors of the electrolyte affecting the elastic modulus were explored. The results show that the elastic modulus of the microarc oxidation layer can vary in a large range under different electrolytes. With the change of the concentration of Ca and P in the electrolyte and the pores density, the elastic modulus in the surface layer of biomedical titanium can be moderately affected.
