Abstract

This paper focuses on a power quality improvement project for an oilfield drilling rig electrical system. For economic reason, an active current compensator and a passive current compensator are designed against features of power system in oilfield drilling rig. And then the current detection point arrangement of this hybrid system is taken into consideration to build the whole system much more effective and reliable. Now the compensators are working well in application field, and the power quality of system is greatly improved.
