Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the constituents of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz. and its anti-inflammatory activity. METHODS: The chemical components were isolated by silica gel column chromatography. Their structures were identified by spectral analysis. The anti-inflammatory pharmacological experiments of the constituents were carried out in vivo. RESULTS: Five compounds were isolated and their structures were established as atractylenolide III (I), atractylenolide I (II), 14-Acetoxy-12-senecioyloxytetradeca-2E,8E,10E-trien-4,6-diyn-1-ol(III), 14-Acet- oxy-12-α-methylbutyl-2E,8E,10E- trien-4,6- diyn-1-ol (IV-1) and 14-Acet- oxy-12-β-methylbutyl-2E,8E,10E-trien-4,6-diyn-1-ol(IV-2). CONCLUSION: There are anti-inflammatory constituents in Atractylodes macrocephalae. The 13C-NMR data of compound III and IV-1 are reported for the first time. The data of IV-2 is reported for the first time.
