Abstract

The high-speed flying train is a new transportation concept running in the low-vacuum environment. The performances of the trains’ components and the corresponding materials determine the stability of the whole system, while researches on the materials working in low-vacuum condition was rare to see. In the present study, the 1000 h thermal ageing test of epoxy resin was performed which was based on the practical operation condition of ground module of high-speed flying train. The pressure was set as 100 Pa, and the temperature was 100 ℃ and 120 ℃ respectively. Results proved the session of molecular chains during ageing, while the re-crosslinking happened at the same time. As a result, both the glass transition temperature and the tensile strength increased after ageing, and the breakdown strength showed the variation trend of first dropping and then rising on the ageing time.
