Abstract

The developments of the guided weapon need the better performance of stealth technology, especially the multi-band stealth technology. A new technique to control the spectral feature of the target surface by controlling the surface microstructure was presented. The Maxwell electromagnetic theory was used to establish the relation model between the surface microstructure and the surface spectral feature. Effect of the materials and the configuration of the microstructure on the spectral feature was analyzed. The possibility of applying the spectrum control technique based on the surface microstructure to infrared stealth had been discussed. The results indicate that controlling the spectrum feature of target can be achieved by controlling the surface microstructure, and the infrared stealth of target can be realized. The presented technique provides a new idea for the infrared stealth design of the military target.
