Space-time characteristics of velocity and temperature in pulse tube refrigerator

Abstract

In order to further study complex space-time characteristics of the gas velocity and the gas temperature of the pulse tube refrigerator, the space-time thermodynamic characteristics of the velocity and temperature of the key parts-the pulse tube and the regenerator of the pulse tube refrigerator with different types including the basic type, the orifice type and the double-inlet type, are numerically investigated using the self-built numerical software of the pulse tube refrigerator. The space-time distributions of temperature and velocity of the pulse tube refrigerator with different structural types are obtained and are helpful to intuitively understand the dynamic characteristics of the thermodynamics parameters in the pulse tube and the regenerator. In addition, by numerically analyzing the fluctuating rule of the cold-end temperature and hot-end temperature of the pulse tube when the orifice or double-inlet valve is used, the results reveal that the orifice and the double-inlet valve can induce the temperature fluctuation in the pulse tube; the fluctuating range induced by the orifice is more than the double-inlet valve. So the orifice is the main factor which induces anomalistic changing of the gas temperature of the pulse tube.
