Simulation and nonlinear analysis for the Rayleigh-Benard convection with the lattice Boltzmann method

Abstract

The Rayleigh-Benard convection for different Ra is simulated with the lattice Boltzmann method. The Nu for different Ra is consistent with the results of others. Three static bifurcation solutions are got for Ra=2000 and one of them is instable. A periodic oscillatory solution is got for Ra=5×10 5. An unstable solution is got for Ra=2000 by the interpolation supplemented lattice Boltzmann method when the interpolation nodes are changed.
