Abstract

In order to obtain the convective heat transfer law of cross-wavy surface recuperator, the heat transfer coefficients of a cross-wavy surface recuperator for typical 100 kW microturbine were measured though experiments, and the method of separating convective heat transfer coefficients from overall heat transfer coefficient was proposed by using genetic algorithm. The method used four coefficient variables in heat transfer correlation as the optimization variables to be searched and optimized so as to acquire the coefficients of the correlation for predicting heat transfer coefficient and separate the convective heat transfer coefficient successfully from the overall heat transfer coefficient. This separating method is common and can be conveniently and flexibly used to study the heat transfer law of such kind of recuperator. The heat transfer coefficients predicted agree well with the experimental data, and can exactly reflect the actual heat transfer law.
