Abstract

It is difficult for the classical direct power control (DPC) to satisfy the control requirements of converter under different operation conditions. A novel multi-switching-table based sectional DPC method is therefore proposed in this paper. Four switching tables, which considerate the performance indicators comprehensively, are designed. The best switching states can be acquired according to the different control requirements. The simulation and experiment show that, compared with the classical DPC, the starting time of the converter is reduced at least 10%, the current total harmonic distortion (THD) at the steady state is reduced at least 30%, and the transient setting time of the DC voltage is shortened at least 27.3%. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed sectional DPC method are verified.
