Abstract

The screw rotors'3-D temperature distributions were proposed by using the elasticity mechanics theory and finite element method. Based on these results, the rotors' 3-D force and thermal deflections were presented instead of the traditional 2-D calculated results. The numerical results are well supported by experiment. According to analysis, it can be found that the rotor's thermal deflection is more obvious than force deflection and the deflection of the middle part is more obvious than that of the ends. The calculated results help to predict the real distortions of the running rotors and they can be further used for clearances design between screw rotors.
