Abstract
Electrical power system safety issues under market environment are getting more and more attentions. However, it is difficult to find the critical safety weakness in system operation by using the traditional evaluation methods. A method based on ISC (improved standard clock) method and full time domain dynamic simulation is presented for safely analysis. Dual probability indexes are proposed as safety measures and the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. The simulation can illustrate the dynamic processes of cascaded failure and obtain two security indexes independently. The existence of power law in the cascaded collapse problem of power systems is investigated.
