N2 - A novel single-axis flexure hinge named Right-Circular Corner-Filleted (RCCF) flexure hinge, which is composed of half a right circular one and half a corner-filleted one, is presented. The flexibility expression, maximum stress and rotation precision of RCCF flexure hinge is provided, and validated by finite element method. Take the micro-adjustment mechanism in double-crystal monochromator for example; a group of RCCF flexure hinges with different corner-filleted radii are analyzed using the ANSYS finite element software, including a special RCCF hinge, i.e. right-circular hinge. The results show that the RCCF flexure hinges are more compliant than right-circular hinge and as precise as it in rotation. The RCCF flexure hinge is suitable for engineering applications where high displacement and high accuracy are needed.
